We often use Craniosacral Therapy- a gentle and effective hands on treatment for multiple conditions including migraines and tension headaches. The techniques require that the patient lays in a supine comfortable position and the therapist then gently holds the patient’s head and detects micro movements referred to the craniosacral rhythm. Holding patterns are released with gentle pressure to equalize the craniosacral rhythm and decrease tension to eliminate pain. Craniosacral therapy along with other cranial releases including hair and ear pulls can be an effective treatment for the relief of occipital neuralgia and vertigo.
What is Craniosacral Therapy
We also use Myofascial Release to treat Headaches and Migraines.
How does it help headaches and migraines? What does it do?
Myofascial Release is a hands on treatment that focuses in on the connective tissues that surround the muscles, blood vessels, ligaments, tendons and nerves. Very often with migraines the muscles of the neck and shoulders become tight which decreases circulation and contributes to the migraine headache. By loosening these muscles and fascia you can in turn improve circulation patterns decreasing the severity of the migraine and in turn helping to ward off future headaches.
